About the Opportunity

BNP Paribas Group currently has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Credit P&L Controller (VP/Director) and a Senior Rates & FXLM P&L Controller (VP/Director) to join our team in Montreal, QC, on a full-time basis. These are hybrid roles split between our office and work from home. 

The Senior Credit P&L Controller is responsible for preparing and supervising daily and monthly management revenues for the Credit Trading activity and their reconciliation with the estimates of traders and financial accounts.

The Senior Rates & FXLM P&L Controller is responsible for preparing and supervising daily and monthly management revenues for the Rates and Foreign Exchange and Local Markets (FXLM) activity and their reconciliation with the estimates of traders and financial accounts.

With varying levels of responsibility and autonomy, some of your key responsibilities for either role above will include but are not limited to:

  • Analyzing and reporting daily P&L with detailed Greek breakdown for multiple products including futures, options, equities, variance & correlation swaps, interest rate derivatives, and Structured Products
  • Reconciling P&L to Front office estimates with detailed Greeks and New deal breakdown
  • Resolving PV breaks between client settlement amounts and P&L control estimates
  • Substantiating and resolving daily Back office ledger vs. P&L systems cash breaks
  • Ensuring MTD management P&Ls are consistent with final end of month general ledger P&L
  • Assisting with the training and development of junior (analyst) members of the team

The successful candidates for both roles will participate in business development initiatives across departments and locations of BNP Paribas, and collaborate with Front Office, Trade Support, Market Risk and other departments to ensure cohesiveness in achieving the organization's goals.

More About You

In order to qualify for these roles, you will need a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Math, Engineering or other quantitative disciplines, as well as 7+ years of combined experience in P&L Control, Finance, Trade Support, Valuations, Risk, or Front Office environment, including 4+ years of P&L Control covering Fixed Income derivatives & hedges (Treasuries, Corporate Bonds, CDS, CDX,IRS, FRAs, Caps/Floors, Swaptions, and FX Products). 

As our ideal candidate, you possess:

  • Strong working knowledge of P&L attributes/Greeks
  • Advanced technical computer skills, specifically in MS Excel
  • Working knowledge of Programming languages such as VBA & Python (strong preference)
  • Experience in Equity Derivatives P&L (asset)
  • Fluency in financial markets, with an emphasis on Equities (asset)
  • Experience in pricing, valuation, or hedging of derivatives (asset)
