About the Opportunity

BNP Paribas Group currently has an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Documentation Analyst to join our team on a full-time basis. Though we are currently working remotely, the successful candidate will be expected to be based within or relocate to the province of Quebec. This position is based in Montreal.

The Senior Documentation Analyst position is within the Documentation Team. This is a dynamic and transversal team that covers a variety of products ranging from drafting interest rate and credit derivatives confirmations to electronic matching for FX products.

With varying levels of responsibility and autonomy, some of your key responsibilities as the Senior Documentation Analyst will include:

  • Drafting and reviewing paper confirmations for Credit and Interest Rate Derivatives. Supporting and overview chasing for executed paper confirmations across all business classes managed by the team. 
  • Performing and overseeing confirmation and chasing process for Rates, Credit and Equity trades.
  • Monitoring team reporting, statistics, risk indicators, and ensuring timely completion of the reporting.
  • Taking ownership over IRD/CDS teamwork and being able to define, communicate, and delegate tasks where appropriate in a flexible manner. 
  • Facilitating team progress by providing an appropriate amount of structure, direction and feedback. Fostering development of collaborative and inclusive mindset within the team and platform. 
  • Acting as the point of contact for various internal teams and external counterparties, ensuring a timely and efficient resolution of business related queries and escalations. Taking active part in the resolution of operational issues and the realization of various sector related projects.
  • Assisting with the training of new joiners, and newer members of the team, on various Credit and Interest Rate Derivatives Products.
  • Attending periodic ISDA or market/product development calls and providing an update to management and keeping the team updated of any new market initiatives.

More About You

In order to qualify for this role, you will need a bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance, Business, Law or a related field, along with a minimum of 3 years experience in OTC Derivatives (Credit and Interest Rate products) and documentation. In addition, you will need deep knowledge of the main tools used for CDS and IRS products, such as: Focus, Star, Mad, Murex, DTCC and Ice Link. You must also have excellent knowledge of the mechanics and technical understanding of the derivative products, of the ISDA terminology and practices for CDS and IRD, and of the Documentation chasing, drafting and escalation process. 

As our ideal candidate, you'll join us with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. A basic understanding of French would be an asset, but is not required. You have outstanding analytical and quantitative skills, strong organizational skills, and are extremely detail-oriented. You have the ability to concentrate for extended periods of time, and a keen eye for catching errors. Likewise, you are a capable team player who is proactive in seeking information and able to work well both independently and in a team environment. Advanced technical computer skills, specifically in MS Excel are required. Coding experience is an asset.
